THE GUEST HOUSE

South Wind Guesthouse is located in the heart of the charming village of Marsaxlokk, one of Malta’s most quaint and traditional villages and is run by a
family with years of experience in hospitality. It is conveniently positioned right next to the seafront and allows visitors to gain an intimate experience of the village lifestyle making it ideal for travelers who are looking to explore Malta’s rich cultural heritage.
The guesthouse consists of eight highly furnished rooms that offer ample space and all the necessary amenities that one might need. While the guesthouse is characterized by the luxurious feel of the rooms, it also maintains the warmth and personalized service of a family-run B&B.
 
Once on the premises, guests can unwind and enjoy the fine attention that is paid to every small detail. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the guest house and continental buffet breakfast is served every morning. With guest satisfaction being the patrons’ main priority, no detail has been sparred in ensuring that all stays are happy ones.

The Rooms

Bright and airy, the South Wind’s rooms are comfortable and luxurious to stay in. Each room is named after the different types of winds blowing over the Mediterranean Sea. The three room types have their own style and are designed in away that is both stylish and practical.

Deluxe Double Rooms

Mistral, Ponente, Gregale, Levante and Tramontane These rooms are perfect for guests wanting a comfortable room for their Mediterranean stay. Bright, roomy, and tastefully furnished, they enjoy full en suite facilities and are fitted with a walk-in shower, air conditioning, a flat screen television with cable access, a microwave, a mini fridge, a kettle, a hair dryer, a safe and a desk. Complimentary tea, coffee, sugar, and milk are available in these rooms and Wi-Fi connectivity is free of charge. Furthermore, Tramontane is designed with special care for guests with disability. The amenities in the room, including the bathroom facilities, are designed in a way that addresses special mobility needs. Mistral and Ponente are located on the 1st floor, Gregale and Levante being located on the 2nd floor and Tramontane on the 3rd floor with stair lift and elevator access from the front door.

Deluxe Double Rooms With Side Sea Views

Libecco and Sirocco These deluxe double rooms overlook sea views from the side of their terrace. Their balconies are equipped with a table and chairs, for guests to be able to enjoy a tranquil morning coffee or conclude the day gazing at the horizon. All rooms enjoys full en suite facilities and are fitted with a walk-in shower, air conditioning, a flat screen television with cable access, a microwave, a mini fridge, a kettle, a hair dryer, a safe and a desk. Every care has been taken in order to ensure that all facilities in this room are within reach. Libecco is situated on the 1st floor and Sirocco on the 2nd floor, with stair lift and elevator access from the front door.

The typical warmth of the Ostro wind reminds us of the warmth of the Maltese islands. Guests wanting to enjoy their stay independently or for a longer period may wish to book our newly completed studio apartment. Ostro is spacious, with a modern en suite bathroom that includes a walk-in shower. The room is equipped with a small kitchen that includes a fridge, microwave, kettle, electric cooker, crockery, and cutlery. Guests can also enjoy the sea view from their large and private terrace or take advantage of one of Malta’s 300 sunny days throughout the year and sunbathe on the sun loungers. This studio apartment has full en suite facilities and is fitted with a walk-in shower, air conditioning, a flat screen television with cable access, a microwave, a mini-fridge, a kettle, a hair dryer, a safe and a desk. Ostro is situated on the 3rd floor with stair lift and elevator access from the front door.

Our continental breakfast is served every morning, and it typically consists of pastries and baked goods, cold cuts, fruits, bread, yoghurt, a selection of teas, coffee and juice. To add that little zest, we like to make sure that our breakfast includes traditional Maltese treats, such as local honey rings, traditional Maltese bread, and other delicacies according to the occasion or time of year. The breakfast area is brightly lit, enjoying views of the magnificent church of Our Lady of Pompei from the terrace. Founded in 1890, this Church is an architectural feast for the eyes. In contrast, the inner decor is simple yet elegant and soothing enough for that relaxed, holiday-morning feel.

Everything was brand new and clean. Very helpful and kind owner, same as the rest of the personnel. In the room there are all the information you would need to make the stay as pleasant and easygoing as possible. Every details is considered and there is quite everything you need in the room or hotel's facilities. The location is excellent, next to airport bus stop or restaurants area in the harbour. St. Peter's pool is half an hour away walking distance.

Excellent place all round. Frangesko is an excellent host, the place far exceeded our exoectations. The room was clean, towels and everything provided, excellent views and modern appliances. Breakfast was amazing. You would have a laminated menu in your room, plenty of options, mark down the quantity of items you wanted and leave it in the kitchen at nughtz and you would wake up and find everything you ordered, all fresh. Really enjoyed the breakfast looking over the harbour. 10/10 experience

This place is absolutely perfect. Especially the Suite is a dream. The huge balcony is great to hang out. But also the other rooms are very nice, very clean and spacious. Pound For Pound - a great place to stay in Marsaxlokk !! A very friendly modern family run B&B of very high quality, a great place to stay and to explore the lovely fishing Village of Marsaxlokk and the surrounding area of the south of Malta !! I booked for 5 days and extended to 3 weeks !! If you're looking for a family run high quality B&B I Highly recommend "South Wind" !!!
